My name is Shane Schaffer and I am originally from Liberal Ks. I have recently moved to Wichita Ks and am currently working in both towns as well as working with other dent repair companies at major hailstorms across the U.S.
I started my career in auto body repair in June of 2000 after graduating from WyoTech in the collision and refinishing program. I worked in a body shop repairing major collision damage from start to finish for 14 years and after deciding it was time to get away from the dust and chemicals I decided that PDR was going to be my next step. PDR was also something where I could apply the knowledge I had gained from all my years working in a body shop.
After going to get PDR training in 2013 I started fixing the lot cars at the GM dealership I worked at on nights and weekends while still working in the body shop during the day. One year later I decided it was time to go into PDR full time. I had no idea what to expect but 8 days after quitting my job in the body shop a big hailstorm him my hometown of Liberal. Because of that storm I was able to meet a lot of great people that have helped me get further into the hail repair business. It’s been a great decision and my only regret is that I didn’t get into PDR sooner.
By combining PDR with an extensive career in paint and body I am proficient in all areas of dent repair from estimating, removal and installation of interior panels, and knowing what is involved to replace panels and paint which helps to maximize profits when using the PDR process.
